- Conducts a minimum of 5 interviews weekly to assess applicants' suitability based on:
- Motivation and availability
- Relevant skills (e.g., languages, child life experience, comfort with acutely ill patients)
- Ability to follow guidelines and receive supervision
- Expectations of the volunteer experience
- Communication skills and personality fit
- Previous volunteer experience
- Comfort working in a cancer care setting
- Matches volunteers to departmental needs and communicates placement decisions
- Performs reference checks as needed
- Manages daily volunteer operations and scheduling to optimize departmental support
- Shares weekly volunteer schedules with staff supervisors via email or hand delivery
- Responds to real-time volunteer needs and inquiries
- Oversees compliance with departmental requirements:
- General orientation
- Child life and HIPAA training
- Medical clearances (e.g., TB testing, inoculations)
- Six-month and annual assessments

Skills & Qualifications
