What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Content Marketing Specialist to join our dynamic Marketing Team. This is a high-impact role for a creative, fast-moving writer who can craft everything from short, punchy headlines to long-form storytelling that resonates with our audience.
You will play a central role in engaging competitors throughout the full competition lifecycle, from nomination and early momentum to voting surges, finalist moments, and winner announcements.

What You’ll Do:
Content Strategy and Campaign Development
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute a consistent content strategy across Colossal’s portfolio of competitions, engaging participating competitors throughout every stage of the journey while strengthening the broader Colossal brand.
- Take ownership of the competitor journey, ensuring messaging aligns with each stage of the experience and delivers desired results.
Copywriting and Creative Production
- Write high-volume content across channels, including both short-form promotional copy and long-form storytelling.
- Create compelling subject lines, pithy headlines, calls to action, and campaign messaging that drive engagement and action.
- Produce competitor-facing content that feels personal, motivating, and aligned with the competition experience.
Email and Lifecycle Engagement
- Craft mass-marketing emails and text messages tailored to different audience segments.
- Write content that energizes competitors, builds momentum, and keeps them engaged throughout the competition.
- Monitor performance and optimize messaging based on results.
PR and External Messaging
- Write press releases and public-facing communications that elevate Colossal’s mission, partnerships, and charitable impact.
Social Content and Audience Engagement
- Create and schedule social content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other platforms.
- Support competitor engagement through clear, consistent, and brand-aligned messaging.
Optimization and Performance
- Manage content development across three to six concurrent campaigns, shifting priorities quickly while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Work quickly, adapt to changing needs, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Regularly monitor content performance metrics to identify opportunities, learnings, and areas for improvement.
- Maintain a mindset of continuous learning and development, using performance insights to recommend new approaches, creative opportunities, and messaging optimizations that elevate overall marketing efforts.
- Maintain a high standard of excellence in all written work, with strong attention to detail, minimal errors, and a consistent commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Take full ownership and accountability for content across each campaign, serving as a key driver of execution from concept through delivery, and ensuring messaging remains aligned, timely, and effective throughout the competitor journey.
Collaboration and Teamwork
- Partner closely with designers, business development, brand partners, and external collaborators.
- Contribute as a team player who brings ownership, energy, and a solutions-first mindset.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Four or more years of experience in content marketing, email marketing, social media, and copywriting.
- Exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to write across tones, including inspirational, urgent, heartfelt, playful, and professional.
- Strong understanding of audience psychology and conversion-driven messaging.
- Experience with Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, high-velocity marketing environment.
Tools and Technical Skills
- Proficient with Google Suite, Google Analytics, and Apple products.
- Experience with email platforms such as MailChimp, Mailgun, SendGrid, or similar.
- Understanding and general familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva.
