What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Associate Attorney to join our in-house legal team. Reporting directly to the CLO, this individual will work closely with internal departments to support a wide range of legal matters across the organization, including contract drafting and negotiation, ongoing regulatory compliance, intellectual property and trademark matters, as well as general business risk management.
Key responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, policies, and procedures, as well as other legal agreements.
- Conduct legal research and provide guidance and analysis on issues related to marketing campaigns and promotions, data privacy, intellectual property, and digital media.
- Assist with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and possible international laws and regulations and advising internal stakeholders of applicable changes.
- Support IP management, including registration of trademarks, copyrights, and licensing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, HR, Finance, etc.) to advise on legal risks and mitigation strategies.
- Help prepare documentation and filings.
- Maintain internal legal documentation and organize legal templates and resources.
- Assist with special projects and arbitration preparation, as needed.
Our ideal candidate:
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and licensed to practice law in Arizona.
- 2 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in an in-house role or at a firm with exposure to tech/media, employment, or intellectual property law.
- Strong understanding of contracting, IP law, and advertising/marketing regulations (including FTC and gaming compliance).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management.
- A collaborative team player who’s also comfortable working independently.
- Passion for mission-driven work and a desire to support charitable initiatives.
