We are looking for a Project Urban Designer to join our Tustin office. In this role, you will collaborate with architects, landscape architects, consultants, and project team members to plan, design, coordinate, and present ideas across a variety of disciplines - including hospitality, residential, mixed-use, entertainment, and support facilities. Projects span diverse settings from islands to mountains to deserts, with work across Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.
This position requires in-person collaboration Monday-Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
Responsibilities

Work closely with senior leaders - including the Project Director, Senior Project Urban Designer, Senior Project Planner, and Project Manager - to develop creative physical planning concepts across a wide range of master planning types, including:
- Large-scale master-planned developments
- Mixed-use and infill development
- Resort and hospitality destination master plans
- Community and neighborhood-scale master planning
- Vision master planning
- Conduct site analysis and project research
- Assist with project visioning, land use planning, site planning and programming, footprint layouts, and calculations
- Analyze, synthesize, and document project planning and urban design processes
- Prepare high-quality 2D planning and urban design diagrams and illustrations
- Understand basic architectural design and prepare 3D project base and massing models
- Coordinate and manage project CGI production
- Write reports and deliverable summaries
- Collaborate on a variety of document types including planning reports, technical memoranda, design narratives, project approaches, and design guidelines
- Interface with clients, sub-consultants, and other professionals throughout all stages of project development
- Direct and manage the planning concept production of other team members
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, or Architecture
- 7-10 years of experience in urban design, architecture, and/or landscape architecture
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp
- Working knowledge of land use planning and residential, retail, hospitality, commercial, and mixed-use development typologies
- Technical experience with site planning and programming, building layout, development yields, and massing modeling
- Solid graphic skills including hand-sketching, plans, and document layout
- Strong knowledge of urban planning, environmental planning, and sustainable design
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
Preferred:
- Relevant urban planning certification
- Proficiency in Rhino, Enscape, and other rendering software
- Knowledge of Grasshopper, Ladybug, and other sustainability analysis and mapping tools
- Knowledge of ArcGIS and GIS analysis
- Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Midjourney) applied to project work
- Visualization rendering experience
