Paving Foreman

Job Overview
Coastline Contracting is seeking an experienced Asphalt Paving Foreman to lead and coordinate paving crews on roadway and site paving projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in asphalt paving operations, and the ability to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of asphalt paving crews
• Ensure proper operation of paving equipment including pavers, rollers, and related machinery
• Read and interpret job plans, grades, and project specifications
• Communicate with project managers, truck drivers, and crew members to maintain workflow and production
• Monitor asphalt placement, compaction, and overall quality of finished surfaces
• Enforce safety procedures and maintain a safe jobsite
• Schedule crew tasks and ensure work is completed on time
• Perform jobsite inspections and address any issues during paving operations
• Train and mentor crew members when needed

Qualifications

• Proven experience in asphalt paving operations
• Prior experience as a paving foreman or crew leader preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to read plans and understand grades and paving specifications
• Knowledge of paving equipment and compaction techniques
• Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift 50 pounds

Preferred Experience

• Experience with roadway, parking lot, and municipal paving projects
• Experience coordinating with milling crews and trucking operations
• Knowledge of asphalt mix types and compaction standards
