We are seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment, trucks, and construction machinery used in paving, grading, and site development operations.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues on heavy equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on equipment and fleet vehicles.
- Repair and maintain:
- Excavators
- Bulldozers
- Motor Graders
- Skid Steers
- Rollers
- Asphalt Pavers
- Dump Trucks
- Lowboys and Trailers
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems.
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential issues before failures occur.
- Respond to field service calls and emergency repairs when necessary.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company standards.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic preferred.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience working on CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, Case, or similar equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals and schematics.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
