Duties
- Operate asphalt milling machines and other heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and dump trucks to remove existing pavement efficiently.
- Prepare the worksite by setting up safety barriers, inspecting equipment, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Support paving crews by managing material flow, including concrete mixing, pumping, and finishing as needed.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate site activities, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment usage, and safety inspections throughout each shift.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as asphalt milling machines, excavators, loaders, or dump trucks.
- Knowledge of construction site safety procedures and ability to adhere strictly to safety regulations.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on machinery.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent for operating commercial vehicles is preferred.
- Prior experience working on paving projects or in roadway construction is highly desirable.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand, lift heavy materials, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
