Position Summary
The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients by providing outstanding customer service, managing appointments, verifying patient information, and supporting the clinical team with daily administrative duties.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling appointments.
- Check patients in and out efficiently.
- Verify insurance information and collect co-pays and outstanding balances.
- Enter and update patient demographics accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Scan and upload documents into patient charts.
- Coordinate with providers and clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous medical front office or customer service experience preferred.
- Experience with EMR systems and insurance verification is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment.
