Reports to: Principal and Teacher(s) Assigned Pay Grade: $25.00 per hr. (certified)
$35.00 per hr. (retired from TRS)
Dept./School: Assigned Work Days: During and/or after school hours
Primary Purpose
Provide academic instruction to assigned individuals or small groups. Students will be assigned to tutor by campus principal or designee. The tutor may work with individuals or small groups.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree or higher
Valid Teaching Certification from the Texas Education Agency
Special Knowledge/Skills
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Ability to work well with children
Ability to communicate effectively
Experience
Some experience working with children

Instructional Support
- Manage learning materials and create student materials for specific lessons as needed.
- Provide instruction in math, reading, writing, science, or social studies.
- Relate positively to children and develop respectful relationships.
- Keep information about children and achievement confidential.
- Prepare lessons and reflect accommodation for differences in student learning styles.
- Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process where available.
- Assess student progress and report to the classroom teacher.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
- Help supervise students throughout the school day as necessary.
- Keep teachers informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
