About Tutor of Dragons
Tutor of Dragons is a premier tutoring center serving students throughout Carroll ISD and surrounding communities. We help students build confidence, improve grades, and develop the skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
We're seeking an outstanding Math Tutor who can confidently teach students from Pre-Algebra through AP Calculus.
Position Summary
As a Math Tutor, you'll work one-on-one and in small groups with middle and high school students, helping them understand challenging math concepts and prepare for classroom success, standardized tests, and AP coursework.

Responsibilities
- Provide engaging one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions.
- Assess student understanding and tailor instruction to individual learning styles.
- Explain mathematical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Help students prepare for quizzes, tests, finals, and AP exams.
- Reinforce classroom instruction while building confidence and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain communication with office staff regarding student progress.
- Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled tutoring sessions.
- Create a positive, encouraging learning environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Strong knowledge of high school mathematics through AP Calculus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain difficult concepts in multiple ways.
- Dependable, organized, and professional.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Mathematics, Engineering, Education, Physics, or a related field.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience.
- Experience with honors and AP-level mathematics.
- Familiarity with SAT/ACT Math is a plus.
Schedule
- Typically 2–10 hours per week
- Afternoons and evenings
- Sunday availability is a plus
