Product Development Manager

We are partnering with a fast-growing consumer products company to identify a strategic and innovative Product Development Manager to join their team. This role is ideal for a professional who excels at driving product innovation while ensuring successful execution within the personal care, beauty, and wellness space.

This individual will take ownership of the full product lifecycle—from concept through launch and ongoing performance—working cross-functionally to bring high-quality, market-ready products to national retail partners. This is a high-impact, visible role within an organization experiencing strong growth and expansion.

• Work cross-functionally with R&D, packaging, quality, marketing, sales, and manufacturing teams

• Salary range: $75,000–$95,000 annually, based on experience

Key Responsibilities of the Product Development Manager:

• Drive end-to-end product development initiatives across multiple product categories
• Oversee formulation, packaging development, product testing, and regulatory compliance
• Manage product launches, line extensions, and SKU rationalization efforts
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery
• Conduct market research, trend analysis, and competitive assessments to inform product strategy
• Support retail readiness, including onboarding requirements and product setup
• Analyze sales performance and POS data using tools such as Nielsen, Retail Link, or similar platforms
• Partner with marketing and sales teams on product positioning, packaging, and go-to-market strategies
• Prepare presentations and materials for leadership, including product proposals and business updates

Qualifications of the Product Development Manager:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5–8 years of product development experience within personal care, beauty, wellness, or CPG industries
• Demonstrated success launching products into national retail accounts
• Strong knowledge of formulation processes, packaging timelines, regulatory requirements, and retail cycles
• Experience managing multiple SKUs in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Proficiency with retail analytics tools such as Nielsen, Retail Link, or similar platforms
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
• Strong organizational and project management skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
• Experience supporting mass, drug, grocery, or specialty retail channels is a plus
