As a Marketing Research Specialist you will:
- Lead the department’s marketing initiatives by formalizing and executing strategic plans that align with priorities, timelines, and budget requirements.
- Manage all outgoing communications, including writing press releases, producing the business community newsletter, and coordinating official messaging.
- Develop marketing materials and manage the design, ordering, and procurement of promotional items, including vendor research and quote coordination.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external marketing agencies, setting shared priorities and overseeing the creation of materials such as information sheets and digital content.
- Design, update, and publish marketing and research publications related to economic development for clients, businesses, and the public.
- Create and deliver professional PowerPoint presentations for City Council, the Economic Development Authority (EDA), partner agencies, and stakeholder events.
- Plan and manage department business appreciation events, including coordinating caterers, venue setup, participant communication, and task assignments.
- Coordinate high-profile events such as groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and open houses, managing day-of activities, work delegation, photography, and protocol logistics.
- Research and analyze economic data using various methodologies and provide informed recommendations.
- Prepare presentation materials and proposals aimed at maintaining or generating additional revenue for the City.
- Develop and maintain an automated database of commercial and industrial real estate within the City.
- Oversee a comprehensive economic research program using media sources, literature, online tools, and interviews.
- Respond to inquiries and follow up on leads related to property information, economic expansion, and related topics.
- Collect, analyze, and provide demographic and statistical data to support studies and reports.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of two years of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards.
