The City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Traffic Signs & Markings Senior Technician-CDL full-time position with benefits. The position is scheduled to work Monday through Thursday from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

The Public Works Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City's capital projects, streets and traffic operations. The Public Works team oversees the planning, design, installation, maintenance and operation of all signs, pavement marking's, traffic signals, intelligent transportation systems and roadway lighting for all City Streets. This includes 238 signalized intersections, 800 traffic cameras, 29,000 streetlights, 22,000 regulatory and warning signs and 275 miles of roadway striping. Maintenance of over 2,090 lane miles of streets and 130 miles of alley's requiring asphalt patching, repair and replacement of curbs and gutters, sidewalk repair, debris removal and maintenance of landscaping in the City's right of ways. We also oversee the acquisition of professional services, design, construction and construction management for transportation, utilities, community services and other general government improvements.

Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone to maintain, fabricate, and repair traffic signs, guide signs, and special-ordered signs, as well as perform various tasks associated with street pavement marking projects.

Have you successfully obtained a high school diploma or GED equivalency?
Do you have 2 years of experience as a City of Chandler’s Traffic Signs & Markings Technician or 3 years of experience in installing and fabricating street signs or installing and maintaining roadway striping, including operation of heavy equipment?
Do you have a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record?
Do you have an IMSA (International Municipal Signal Association) Work Zone Traffic Control Safety?
Do you have a valid Class A or Class B CDL (Commercial Driver's License) ?

- A High School Diploma or GED; and
- 2 years of experience as a City of Chandler’s Traffic Signs & Markings Technician or 3 years of experience in the installation and fabrication of street signs or installation and maintenance of roadway striping, including operation of heavy equipment; and
- Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; and
- Class B CDL (Commercial Driver's License) within 6 months of hire or promotion; and
- Ability to obtain and maintain the IMSA (International Municipal Signal Association) certifications in the following:
- Work Zone Traffic Control Safety Certification at time of hire or promotion date;
- Signs and Markings Level 2 Certification, within 1 year of hire or promotion date;
- Or, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
