The City of Chandler Police Department, Forensic Services Division, is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as the Forensic Science Assistant Senior. This position is responsible for a variety of laboratory support duties including ten-print analysis and latent print processing. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits. Upon the completion of training the employee may choose a 5x8 or 4x10 work schedule.

Work is performed under the supervision of a civilian supervisor or manager. This position does not supervise others.

- Must be able to perform the functions of a Forensic Science Assistant
- Assists Forensic Staff by preparing reagents, samples, and solutions
- Processes and collects latent evidence
- Provides expert testimony
- May serve as Technical Lead for ten print analysis
- Maintains inventories and replenishes stock of supplies and chemicals
- Performs and maintains records of safety audits including the collection and organization of safety data sheets
- Conducts audits of equipment and evidence
- Maintains records that may include forensic case files, safety documents, and laboratory documents and logs

- Must possess an Associate’s Degree in Forensics, Criminalistics, Chemistry, or a related field; and
- Must possess at least 2-years of recent experience as a Chandler Crime Scene Technician or Forensic Science Assistant; or, 3-years experience with Forensic Laboratory work at another law enforcement agency; and
- Must be able to obtain a DPS Level B Terminal Operator Certification within six (6) months of hire.
- Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities can substituted for the requirements listed above.
