What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Intern position at Chicago Metropolitan Agen?
CMAP is seeking one TIP intern to actively contribute to agency projects and activities, supporting its mission through meaningful work. The internship program runs from May/June to August, with interns working up to 29 hours per week during the summer, with potential extensions into the academic year at reduced hours. Responsibilities include compiling and analyzing data from spreadsheets and databases, preparing visual materials like charts and presentations, and producing written summaries such as reports and fact sheets. Interns also utilize advanced Microsoft Office tools, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP, to perform accurate data analysis and deliver actionable insights.

Compensation
$21 per hour.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and entering junior or senior status by Fall 2026 or be enrolled in a graduate-level program.
Internships are hybrid, with in-office work at CMAP’s Old Post Office location in Chicago. Interns may work up to 29 hours per week. Start dates will occur between May and June, and internships will run for 12 weeks.
