Chesapeake Search Partners is seeking an Assistant Controller with deep construction accounting expertise and a strong desire to grow into a future leadership role. This is a hands on position that will help contribute to process improvements, systems optimization, and long term organizational growth. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute day-to-day construction accounting functions with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Lead and support Work in Progress (WIP) and revenue recognition processes.
- Oversee and analyze job costing
- Work extensively with data to identify trends, streamline workflows, and support department reporting needs.
- Leverage strong systems knowledge to enhance existing platforms.
- Identify and drive process improvements to improve efficiency
- Partner with leadership on accounting activities
- Assist in directing multiple projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 10 years of construction accounting experience.
- 3–5 years of hands-on WIP and revenue recognition experience.
- Extensive job costing knowledge with demonstrated practical application.
- 5 years working with data, reporting, and analysis.
- Broad knowledge of accounting systems and technology.
- System implementation experience, including involvement in at least one major software rollout preferred.
- Experience with Sage 300 CRE preferred.
- Experience with Procore preferred.
