- Coordinate and oversee behavior team support staff, including planning room para-educators, behavior specialists, and/or intensive support staff.
- Use a data-driven approach to identify, analyze, and address behaviors that impact learning.
- Coach and consult with teaching teams to develop, implement, and monitor behavior interventions.
- Develop and facilitate trainings for professional development as it pertains to behavior systems and school-wide intervention systems.
- Provide behavioral support during lunch and recess periods, as well as bus arrival and dismissal as needed.
- Communicate with families regarding student behavior and attend meetings for students identified through MTSS (including EST, 504, IEP, and evaluation team meetings to assist in developing student plans).
- Utilize Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training to support students in crisis who may be displaying unsafe behaviors.
- Support investigations of complex student interactions—such as bullying, harassment, and Title IX—with strict attention to detail and procedures defined by state, district, and local policies.
- Participate in committees and initiatives to promote and sustain school-wide behavior systems.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education with licensure in a related area (e.g., special educator, social worker, counselor, etc.), or a willingness to obtain this license through the Agency of Education (AOE) with relevant experience.
- A deep belief in a growth mindset and equitable practices to address disparities and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment.
- Proven ability to implement effective classroom and school-wide management techniques.
- Exceptional organizational skills, flexibility, a high-level problem-solving mindset, and a dedicated work ethic.
Please apply via SchoolSpring to WCS Principal Jackie Parks. Please include a cover letter, resume, proof of licensure/certifications, and three current letters of recommendation.
This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package based upon qualifications, education, and experience. More information about WCS and CVSD can be found on our district website.
