Location: Champlain Valley Union High School

Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) is seeking a high school science educator (0.33 FTE, One-year, 2026-2027) to join our team starting FY27. This individual will help create a welcoming, friendly, and efficient environment within the department. In this role, they will work with the principal and staff to support the overall smooth functioning of the academic program each school day.
Primary Responsibilities
- Planning, instructing, and assessing a proficiency-based science curriculum for high school students.
- Managing the daily operations of Integrated Biology and Chemistry classrooms.
- Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of learners with differing abilities.
- Maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment while monitoring student progress.
- Collaborating with staff to ensure instructional continuity and support for all students.
- Carrying out school policies and procedures with high levels of professional integrity.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- A Vermont Professional Educator’s license with an endorsement for secondary science (Required).
- The ability to establish professional rapport with students, staff, and families.
- Strong knowledge of proficiency-based learning and secondary-level science instruction.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a flexible approach to classroom management.
- Demonstrated poise and patience when guiding high school learners through complex scientific concepts.
- The ability to work independently as a self-starter and manage instructional tasks effectively under a fixed timeline.
