Spanish Teacher (0.6 FTE) Needed
Location: Hinesburg Community School

Hinesburg Community School (HCS) is seeking a dynamic 0.6 FTE Spanish Teacher to join our K-8 team starting FY27. This is a permanent position designed for an educator who loves helping students discover the joy of world language and global cultures.
We are looking for a professional who can motivate every student to cultivate an appreciation for the learning of a world language and the cultures of the peoples who speak them. Our ideal candidate ensures a safe and inclusive environment where students of all abilities develop a lifelong appreciation for linguistic and cultural diversity.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a standards-based curriculum centered on the ACTFL national standards.
- Integrate world language instruction with other curricular areas and 21st-century technology throughout the school day.
- Collaborate with special educators to integrate students with all abilities, ensuring all students have access to language learning.
- Foster a positive climate using strong classroom management and organizational skills to support K-8 learners.
- Assess student progress based on national standards to guide instruction and growth.
- Maintain clear communication with staff, students, and families regarding program goals and student wellness.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- Current Vermont Licensure in K-12 Spanish, with demonstrated fluency in reading, writing, and speaking.
- A collaborative spirit, with the flexibility to engage in team teaching and work across faculty teams.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to interface effectively—both in-person and in writing—with the school community.
