Lyndon Institute is seeking to hire a full time Science Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. This position will report directly to the Science Department Chair and the Dean of Academics. This position will be eligible for all benefits including medical, dental, vision, life/disability, retirement, and PTO. The start date is Monday, August 17, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a stimulating learning environment for each student
- Exhibit enthusiasm for the topics s/he teaches
- Collaborate as a team player with teaching colleagues and administrators
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders
- Be an engaged member of the Lyndon Institute community, showing support and involvement in student activities outside of the classroom including LI’s residential program
- Model behavior that reflects Lyndon Institute’s Mission Statement
Requirements:
- Qualified applicants should hold a BS or master’s degree in science or a related field and have several years of high school teaching experience.
- The ability to teach a range of science courses and experience with proficiency-focused curriculum and assessment are essential.
- Experience teaching Advanced Placement Chemistry is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with a Learning Management System (LMS), such as Blackbaud, is beneficial.
- Licensure is valued but not required in an independent school setting.
- A demonstrated commitment to designing and facilitating engaging, inquiry-based lab experiences is critical, as is a willingness to collaborate and contribute to the broader school community.
Salary : $36,865 - $62,519
