Job Summary
The Lead Project Engineer plays a critical role in delivering complex power generation projects by providing technical leadership, project engineering oversight, and customer-facing support. This position is responsible for coordinating cross-functional engineering activities, managing technical scope and change, and ensuring contractual compliance across assigned projects. The role is essential to achieving successful project execution, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement within the organization.
Primary responsibilities include leading technical project execution, serving as the main technical liaison for customers and EPC partners, and driving resolution of complex engineering and execution issues.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the technical project lead for assigned projects, providing engineering direction, coordination, and issue resolution
Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers and EPC partners regarding design, scope, and technical inquiries
Review contract documentation and communicate technical requirements to internal engineering and execution teams
Coordinate engineering activities across multiple disciplines, centers of excellence, supply chain, manufacturing, and field teams
Lead customer meetings including kick-off meetings and design liaison reviews
Evaluate scope changes and assess technical, cost, and schedule impacts through formal change management processes
Manage engineering schedules and proactively mitigate risks to avoid delays in deliverables
Oversee the engineering budget and provide cost forecasts and estimates at completion
Support manufacturing, sourcing, suppliers, and installation teams to ensure equipment meets contractual and technical requirements
Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement back into engineering and execution processes
Present technical risks, issues, and resolution plans to leadership as required
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
OR high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Project Engineering, Design Engineering, and/or Field Engineering
Experience supporting complex industrial or power generation projects
Special Requirements
Ability and willingness to travel approximately 10% 15%
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced project environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of project engineering execution, scope management, and technical coordination
Ability to interpret and manage engineering documentation, specifications, and contract requirements
Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and field services
Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools and engineering documentation systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including customer-facing communication
Ability to assess technical, cost, and schedule impacts of scope changes

Hybrid work model with a mix of in-office and remote work, based on project needs
Standard business hours, Monday through Friday
