We’re seeking a Director of Preconstruction to lead front-end planning for commercial projects. This role drives estimating, design coordination, and client engagement, ensuring projects are set up for success from concept through handoff.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and mentor a high-performing preconstruction/estimating team
- Oversee conceptual through GMP estimates with accuracy and competitiveness
- Partner with clients, architects, and consultants during design development
- Drive value engineering, constructability reviews, and cost alignment
- Manage subcontractor bidding, scopes, and buyout strategy
- Identify and mitigate risk early in the project lifecycle
- Ensure a seamless transition to operations/project management
What You Bring
- 8 years in commercial construction, strong preconstruction/estimating background
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex projects
- Expertise in conceptual estimating, budgeting, and GMP delivery
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, pricing, and market conditions
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Proficiency in estimating tools (e.g., Sage, ProEst, or similar)
