About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Chemotherapy / Oncology for a 13-week contract in Hermiston, Oregon. The RN will provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients receiving chemotherapy while coordinating closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
The position requires expertise in chemotherapy medication administration, patient assessment, education, triage, care planning, and rapid recognition of changes in clinical condition.
ResponsibilitiesAssess chemotherapy patients and provide individualized nursing care based on clinical condition, treatment plans, and established standards.
Safely administer prescribed chemotherapy medications and treatments while monitoring patients for adverse reactions or changes in condition.
Develop, initiate, and maintain individualized electronic plans of care and accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
Provide patient and family education, counseling, triage, and support related to chemotherapy treatment and ongoing care needs.
Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members while participating in quality and performance improvement activities.
Minimum 3 Years of Registered Nurse Experience Required, Including at Least 1 Year of Acute Care or Medical-Surgical Nursing Experience; Previous Oncology Experience Preferred.
Current, Active Oregon Registered Nurse License Required.
Current BLS Certification Required.
Current ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card Required.
Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing Required; BSN and Oncology Nursing Certification Preferred.
