Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients during daytime shifts, including assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Monitor vital signs and conduct physical examinations to evaluate patient conditions accurately.
• Administer IV infusions and injections while adhering to strict sterile procedures and safety protocols.
• Manage medical documentation efficiently using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans and discharge planning.
• Perform specialized procedures such as catheterization, tube feeding management, and basic life support (BLS) as needed.
• Conduct triage assessments for incoming patients or residents, prioritizing urgent needs based on clinical evaluation.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and long-term care standards to protect patient confidentiality and ensure quality care delivery.Requirements
• Valid nursing license with current registration in the state of practice.
• Proven experience in critical care settings such as ICU, emergency room, or hospital medicine; experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to acute and chronic conditions including dementia, Alzheimer's disease, infectious diseases, and pain management.
• Demonstrated ability to perform advanced nursing procedures including IV insertion, venipuncture, catheter care, and airway management.
• Excellent client communication skills with experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays.
• Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), First Aid, and CPR are required; additional certifications such as hospice care or trauma center experience are advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies at all times.

This Baylor postion is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, working 36 hours but being paid for 40, plus a weekend shift diff, plus a $7500 sign on bonus.
