Duties

• Provide direct patient care across various settings, including medical-surgical units, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and outpatient clinics.
• Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following proper aseptic techniques and medical documentation standards.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations to evaluate health status and identify urgent needs.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to document all patient interactions accurately.
• Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including urinary and vascular), tube feeding management, and wound care.
• Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing, radiology procedures like CT scans or sonography, and trauma assessments.
• Support triage processes in urgent care or emergency room settings; coordinate discharge planning and case management for optimal patient outcomes.
• Apply knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure proper documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, ICU/CCU units, neonatal resuscitation procedures (NRP), or pediatric care environments.
• Demonstrate expertise in critical care environments such as Level I/II trauma centers or PICU with experience managing acute pain and infectious disease cases.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license with current state licensure; additional certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
• Proven experience working in diverse clinical settings including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU/CCU, or long-term care facilities.
• Strong familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; proficiency in medical documentation and laboratory data entry.
• Hands-on experience with advanced nursing procedures such as IV insertion/infusion, ventilator management, ostomy care, or dialysis is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of trauma medicine protocols; experience working within Level I/II trauma centers preferred.
• Ability to perform complex assessments involving physiology knowledge and medical terminology; experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills for effective patient education on pain management, hospice & palliative medicine practices, or behavioral health needs.

Our Baylor position is 36 hours and for every Friday, Saturday and Sunday worked an extra 4 hours is added. Work 36 paid for 40. We are also offering a $7500 sign on bonus for this position. We hope to hear from you soon!

Pay: $35.00 - $39.00 per hour
