Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and maintain a sound, user friendly custom database including collecting and analyzing component tracking data
- Implement code for the logic developed through algorithm design and flowchart development
- Build and maintain user interface backend logic to support decision-making and reporting needs
- Knowledge and understanding of HITL (human-in-the-loop) approach
- Collaborate with component engineers, to define system requirements and translate them into a functional software application.
- Support data ingestion, validation, transformation, and visualization related to component health, system lineage, and testing outcomes
- Participate in code reviews, system documentation, and change control processes
- Manage integration with legacy systems.
- Solve ambiguous technical problems with minimal guidance.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 3 years of experience in software development, database management, or scientific programming
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, or similar)
- Familiarity with SQL and relational database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL)
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including engineers, data scientists, and mission managers
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance
- Experience supporting scientific or engineering teams in a national lab or R&D setting
- Exposure to surveillance, diagnostics, or component life cycle tracking systems
- Knowledge of Agile or hybrid development processes
- Experience working with data visualization tools or frameworks
- Existing Q clearance or active DOE/DOD security clearance
