CEIS | Government is seeking a hands-on Sensor & Systems Integration Technician to support advanced intrusion detection and monitoring systems as part of the DOE-NE Advanced Reactor Safeguards (ARS) program. This role will assist in acquisition, integration, and troubleshooting of cutting-edge sensors and electronics supporting security innovation for advanced nuclear facilities. Work will be conducted in laboratory, testbed, and simulated field environments to enable rapid deployment and prototyping of physical security systems.

Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in sensor acquisition and integration, including power and communication hookups for devices such as radar, LIDAR, PIR, microwave, sonar, and video analytics systems.
- Perform field-level troubleshooting and diagnostics on sensor hardware and supporting network devices (e.g., cameras, switches).
- Identify root causes of performance issues and work with vendors to implement hardware/software solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support design, test, and deployment of prototype detection systems.
- Participate in configuration and validation activities for detection zones and multi-sensor platforms.
- Maintain documentation of equipment setup, performance logs, and integration procedures.
- Operate safely in indoor and outdoor environments across a range of environmental conditions.
- Associates degree or equivalent experience in electronics, systems integration, or engineering technology.
- Hands-on experience wiring and troubleshooting electronic equipment (e.g., sensors, network devices, embedded systems).
- Understanding of power and communications hookups, including basic DC power, Ethernet, or RS-232/485 protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in field settings, troubleshoot live systems, and resolve real-time issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with engineering teams and vendors.
- Familiarity with intrusion detection systems and security sensor technologies (radar, PIR, LIDAR, video analytics, etc.).
- Experience working on DOE, DOD, or national lab projects.
- Comfortable supporting early-stage R&D, field prototyping, or systems integration activities.
- Vendor coordination experience including basic procurement and performance troubleshooting.
