CEIS | Power is seeking an experienced Babbitt Technician / Industrial Bearing Specialist to join its operations team at a Houston-based industrial services facility operating in a fast-paced job shop environment. This role is primarily responsible for performing babbitting (lining and relining) of industrial bearings, machining to precise tolerances, and supporting the repair and rebuild of large industrial bearing assemblies. The ideal candidate is highly skilled, detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced in precision metalwork and bearing restoration.

MondayFriday, 7:30 AM 4:00 PM, with potential for overtime and weekend work as needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform babbitting (lining and relining) of industrial bearings using tin- and lead-based alloys
- Prepare bearing shells by cleaning, tinning, and applying bonding agents
- Pour, centrifugally cast, or static cast babbitt material into prepared shells
- Machine, bore, and finish babbitted surfaces to tight tolerances using manual lathes and mills
- Inspect bearings for wear, cracks, bonding integrity, and dimensional accuracy
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders
- Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and calipers
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, inspections, and material usage
- Support troubleshooting, repair, and rebuild of large industrial bearing assemblies
- Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping of shop equipment
- Follow all safety and environmental procedures related to molten metals, torches, heaters, and machinery
- Notify Quality or Production leadership of any non-conforming conditions
- Strong knowledge of babbitt alloys and bonding processes
- Proficient with manual machining equipment (lathes, mills, boring equipment)
- Ability to hold tight tolerances and produce high-precision work
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working with torches, heaters, and molten metal
- Basic computer skills for documentation and recordkeeping
- Solid math skills for measurements and machining calculations
