Responsibilities
- Develop estimates and proposals for assigned bid opportunities
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and generate cost estimates
- Prepare conceptual budgets and job cost proposals, including T&M, lump sum, and design-build packages
- Participate in bid solicitation, subcontractor outreach, and selection processes
- Identify plan discrepancies and opportunities for value engineering
- Support subcontractor and vendor negotiations
- Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors for future work
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and internal teams to support preconstruction efforts
- Assist with constructability reviews and cost analysis throughout project development
- Support additional estimating and preconstruction activities as needed
- Strong understanding of construction methods, practices, and project execution
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and blueprints
- Working knowledge of multiple construction trades, with emphasis on mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to perform quantity takeoffs and develop cost models using labor and material data
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with estimating tools such as WinEst, Accubid, or similar systems
- Experience using Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, BuildingConnected, or similar platforms
- Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Cost Engineering, or related field
- 2 years of experience in M&E construction or estimating
- Relevant certifications in cost estimating or construction management
