CEIS | Government is looking for a Field Engineer to play a key role in supporting fabrication-driven projects by assisting the Field Engineering Manager with coordination of engineering activities, schedules, manpower, budgets, and customer engagement. This position works closely with engineering, production, quality, materials management, and external partners to support project execution from kickoff through closeout. The Field Engineer contributes to daily project operations through risk analysis, forecasting, cost tracking, document control, and contract support, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contractual, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project requirements across internal functional groups including Drafting, Materials Management, Production, Quality, and Shipping
- Assist with project setup, including budget creation, budget revisions, and cost code management
- Support the Field Engineering Manager with project documentation such as schedules, manpower charts, invoices, trucking requests, and tool requisitions
- Identify project risks or potential issues and proactively communicate findings to management, assisting with resolution efforts
- Prepare and analyze cost, revenue, and margin reports to support project forecasting and financial performance
- Create, maintain, and update customer time-and-material rates and billing structures
- Monitor payment status on assigned contracts and coordinate with accounting on receivables
- Maintain organized contract files in accordance with company operating procedures and document control standards
- Assist with ensuring contracts are fully invoiced and supported with complete and accurate documentation
- Perform project reviews to confirm compliance with contract requirements, codes, and documentation standards
- Support job closeout activities including closing purchase orders, inactivating cost codes, and completing ECAC requirements
- Maintain ongoing written and verbal communication with contractors, vendors, and customers
- Prepare material and labor take-offs using project drawings, isometrics, and bills of material
- Support estimating efforts by preparing summaries and documentation for review and submission
- Process invoicing for completed spools and shipped materials, including review of as-built documentation
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fabrication or related industrial industries
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in documentation and reporting
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of cost controls and project financial tracking
- Ability to read and interpret orthographic and isometric drawings
- Familiarity with spool invoicing and as-built documentation
- Working knowledge of CAD systems and updating drawings
- Experience with document control and material inventory management
- Understanding of pipe and structural welding processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Access
