Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced electrical test systems used to emulate nuclear weapon delivery sequences in controlled laboratory environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technologists, and subject matter experts to support complex testing and evaluation programs.
- Develop and implement data acquisition systems capable of capturing a wide range of signals from system-level test equipment.
- Design and specify custom electrical components including cables, circuit boards, racks, and chassis to meet project requirements.
- Integrate, test, and troubleshoot electrical test systems used to monitor the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile.
- Validate system designs against technical and program requirements to ensure compliance, functionality, and performance.
- Develop and interpret engineering documentation including wiring diagrams, schematics, and power distribution drawings.
- Utilize laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, waveform generators, and power supplies during system development and testing.
- Maintain strict adherence to laboratory safety procedures and engineering best practices.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience with electrical system design, testing, or integration in laboratory or engineering environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance and Sigma 15 access, which may require a polygraph examination.
- U.S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain required security clearances.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
- Experience with analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
- Experience designing and fabricating custom electrical assemblies or test equipment.
- Experience developing engineering drawings including wiring diagrams and power distribution schematics.
- Familiarity with electrical laboratory instrumentation and test environments.
- Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent security clearance.
