Summary:

The Sales Engineer is responsible for collaborating with outside sales to understand customer requirements, costing custom glass components and being the voice of the customer to production.

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for taking requests for quotes from sales personnel to interpret them on how we would produce them on the production floor. Creating the process control needed to fabricate the parts establishing the cost and quoting or relaying to salesmen as needed
• Be the contact point coordinating with the Customer, the Outside sales people, customer service and the production floor with regard to new parts and changes to old parts.
• Meet with the production group during specified meetings to ensure that the new or changed part ‘hand-off’ from the Customer and Sales is understood by Production.
• Possibly be the point person with certain (assigned) house accounts in tandem with customer service.
• Work with the entire sales team to ensure superior customer service through timely responses, collaboration, and professional communication.
• Be involved with resolving customer related quality issues as needed.
• Coordinates related Inside and Outside Sales activities to ensure that quotes, inquiries and/or issues are handled in a timely, professional manner.

Skills and/or Competencies:

• Computer skills a must
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Excellent communication skills are required

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience working in a job shop environment preferred with on the factory floor

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
