Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising hourly employees engaged in all phases of the manufacture of glass parts. The Production Supervisor must be a motivated leader with strong employee relations skills, a proven track record of success, and a commitment to excellence. This position is responsible for the direct supervision of multiple departments with the goal of achieving the highest standards in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost Performance, and Daily Transactions.

Essential Job Functions:

• Supervise assigned departments to ensure production is completed on time to meet customer’s requirements
• Monitoring rates, yields, and set-up times through daily monitoring of departmental metrics
• Optimize production planning and scheduling processes
• Efficient daily scheduling across multiple shifts 
• Coordinate product and staff across multiple departments
• Ensuring products are being produced according to requirements and procedures
• Monitor and sustain personnel through effective hiring, training, coaching, development, evaluation, and corrective action
• Ability to work under pressure and make critical (process & quality) decisions on the production floor
• Maintain good housekeeping production-wide and ensure safety precautions are followed 
• Attend meetings as applicable that pertain to the department
• Ability to adjust rapidly to a demanding production environment
• Must be able to report work as scheduled and on time
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

• 5 – 7 years of supervisor experience managing at least 20 people in a manufacturing environment
• Shop floor hands-on knowledge and technical know-how of department operations
• Basic knowledge of blueprints, standards, and specifications
• Machining background helpful as this position interacts with different types of machining departments
• Experience working within an ISO system
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

• Perform job duties in the plant environment exposed to different sizes of glass parts, noise, dirt, dust, odors, etc.
• Be able to work in a hot non-air condition environment.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended hours
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear, repetitive.
• The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or occasionally crawl.
• Perform job duties in an office environment by operating basic office equipment, copier, desktop, computer, phone, and printer.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds 
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Requires manual dexterity to handle glass parts, hand tools and knives.
• Tasks require lifting, standing, bending, reaching, climbing, pulling, pushing, and visually observing glass parts.

Salary : $60,000 - $72,000
