Carolina PRG is seeking a Temporary Senior Cost Accountant to support a growing manufacturing organization. They will partner closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to drive inventory accuracy, cost analysis, financial reporting, and operational finance initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Maintain product costing methodologies and analyze manufacturing performance through detailed review of material, labor, and overhead cost trends.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop product cost estimates and financial models that support pricing strategies and new business initiatives.
- Assist with inventory control initiatives, including physical inventory counts, cycle count programs, and reconciliation of inventory records to financial statements.
- Support the monthly close process through preparation of journal entries, account analyses, inventory reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Track capital spending projects, review capital investment requests, and provide financial reporting on project costs, returns, and operational impact.
- Analyze manufacturing and inventory-related financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Accounting or finance experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with inventory accounting, financial analysis, and operational reporting
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting controls
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- CPA or CMA designation is a plus
