Litigation Paralegal (Full-Time)
Location: Downtown LA (Primarily On-Site)
Salary: $50.23 – $61.50 per hour
About the Firm
Our client is a well-established California law firm known for handling high-profile, complex, and often sensitive matters. The firm operates across multiple offices and brings together multi-disciplinary teams to support public agencies, private businesses, and public-private partnerships. Their work spans a wide range of regulatory and litigation matters at the local, state, and federal levels, and they are widely recognised for excellence within the legal industry. This is a non-exempt position reporting to senior administrative leadership and based in the firm’s Downtown Los Angeles office. This role is primarily on-site, with limited remote flexibility.
The Role
This position supports a busy Trial and Litigation team with a focus on complex litigation matters, including constitutional law, civil rights, class actions, eminent domain, and other high-stakes disputes. The team is engaged in all phases of litigation, from initial pleadings through to trial and appeal.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing cases from inception through trial or settlement
- Drafting, reviewing, and revising legal documents
- Maintaining case files, discovery logs, and indices
- Supporting document production and eDiscovery processes
- Assisting with deposition and hearing preparation, including exhibits and witness materials
- Cite-checking briefs (legal and factual)
- Coordinating document review and working with litigation support teams on database management (e.g., iPro or similar platforms)
Additional expectations:
- Meeting an annual billable target (1575 hours)
- Working extended hours where required
- Occasional travel for case support
- Delivering high levels of internal client service and maintaining reliability and punctuality
Requirements
- Eligibility to work as a paralegal under California Business & Professions Code §6450
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 5 years’ recent litigation paralegal experience in a law firm or in-house setting
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office / Office 365, particularly advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, data analysis tools)
- Experience with document management, eDiscovery, and platforms such as Relativity, iPro, or similar
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Experience with legal research platforms (Westlaw and/or Lexis preferred)
- Solid understanding of court procedures and rules (state and federal)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational, written, and interpersonal skills
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
