Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Tax Manager to lead client engagements, mentor team members, and deliver advanced tax planning and compliance solutions. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to clients while helping drive operational excellence and team development within the firm.
The ideal candidate has a strong public accounting background, excellent technical tax knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a passion for helping clients minimize tax exposure through proactive planning strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and closely held businesses
- Lead tax planning and advisory engagements for high-income individuals and business owners
- Research and interpret federal and state tax regulations and communicate practical solutions to clients
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned clients and provide year-round strategic guidance
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and proactive planning strategies
- Mentor, supervise, and develop tax staff and senior associates
- Review workpapers, ensure quality control, and maintain compliance with firm standards
- Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget expectations
- Assist with IRS and state tax notices, audits, and resolution matters
- Collaborate with leadership on process improvements, workflow optimization, and firm growth initiatives
- Stay current on evolving tax legislation and industry trends
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- Active CPA license strongly preferred; Enrolled Agent considered
- 5 years of recent public accounting tax experience required
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring staff preferred
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance and planning
- Experience working with closely held businesses and high-net-worth clients preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience with tax software platforms such as CCH Axcess or similar systems is a plus

Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
