Financial Analyst

Our client, a leading real estate development company, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its growing finance team. The Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the finance team with both day-to-day responsibilities and high-visibility projects. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, eager to learn, and motivated to contribute to process improvements and strategic initiatives.

**Please note this is an on-site, 5-month contract role based in San Ramon, CA. Pay will be $28-$29/hr.**

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and utilize complex Excel models to analyze new and ongoing real estate developments across multiple divisions.
• Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly reporting packages for executives and leadership teams.
• Update quarterly and annual development cash flows to support debt and equity partner reporting.
• Create and maintain dashboards with real-time custom data visualization for senior leadership.
• Partner with the Director of Finance to prepare corporate business plans and financial reports.
• Identify opportunities to automate reporting and streamline processes.
• Prepare project cash flow proformas and run sensitivity analyses.
• Review and manage insurance requirements for both corporate and development needs.
• Support ad hoc projects and initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (preferred).
• 1–3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related field; real estate development or homebuilding experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial statements (balance sheet, cash flow, P&L).
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with or ability to learn financial software such as Power BI, Datarails, InformXL, Newstar, Adaptive Insights, or Hyperion.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative team player with initiative and a desire to learn.
