Human Resources Generalist
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
Our client, a well-known yachting firm, is hiring a Human Resources Generalist to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing personnel operations, managing the full hiring and onboarding process, and supporting employees with both personal and professional matters. This role requires a proactive, organized, and hands-on professional with strong HR and payroll experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS INCLUDE
• Manage the full recruitment cycle: draft job postings, source resumes, conduct prescreens, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
• Maintain and update the employee handbook and Policies & Procedures manual
• Lead onboarding for new hires, ensuring a smooth integration process
• Oversee employee relations, including progressive discipline, conflict resolution, and terminations
• Maintain and update the U.S. organizational chart
• Process multi-state payroll and track employee PTO requests
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate employee engagement and recognition events
• Create and implement the IYC Internship Program
• Administer the company’s Workers’ Compensation program
• Maintain HRIS data integrity and ensure timely updates
• Create and maintain job descriptions for all employees
• Maintain all payroll and payroll tax records
• Support general office administrative duties as needed
• Issue company cell phones and maintain the vendor site
• Oversee monthly bill reconciliation and related reporting
REQUIREMENTS
• B.A./B.S. in Human Resources or Business Administration
• 5 years of corporate HR Generalist experience
• 4 years of payroll experience (ADP preferred)
• Compensation administration experience preferred
SKILLS
• Strong computer skills (Mac); proficiency with Google Suite required
• HRIS experience required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Driven, proactive, and self-motivated
