Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead a 16-week interior fit-out project in the Mandeville, LA area, with subsequent projects requiring travel throughout the Southeast (primarily LA, MS, AL, GA, FL, and TN). This is a field-based leadership role ideal for a hands-on, safety-focused superintendent who excels at managing subcontractors, maintaining schedules, and delivering quality commercial projects while living away from home during the work week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site operations for commercial construction projects, starting with a 16-week interior fit-out.
- Manage daily field activities, subcontractor coordination, and project schedule adherence.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and contract specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections, progress meetings, and quality control reviews.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
- Proactively identify and resolve field issues to keep projects on time and within budget.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and trade partners.
- Travel to project locations throughout the Southeast as assigned.
Requirements
- 5 years of traveling superintendent experience in commercial construction (required).
- Strong background in interior fit-outs, tenant improvements, or ground-up commercial projects.
- Proven ability to successfully manage projects while traveling and living out of hotels/Airbnbs.
- Deep knowledge of construction methods, building codes, scheduling, and subcontractor management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 30 certification and other relevant safety or construction certifications preferred.
- Willingness to travel Monday–Friday (or as required by project) throughout the Southeast.
