Job Description

Under the supervision of licensed laboratory personnel, and in accordance accreditation requirements and certification standards, performs blood and body fluid collection procedures on patients of all ages and provides for appropriate documentation, labeling, safe handling and transportation of laboratory specimens.

Education And Credentials

High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree in Science preferred. Current New York Drivers licensure subject to review and approval to drive hospital vehicles by the hospital’s insurance underwriters required. Certified Phlebotomy Course preferred.

Experience

Knowledge of Laboratory Terminology required. Previous phlebotomy experience and medical terminology preferred.
