We’re partnered with a well-established Managed Services Provider (MSP) supporting over 100 small and mid-sized business clients across the DMV. This organization has built its reputation on long-term client relationships, service-first values, and operational excellence, not transactional selling.


Due to continued growth and account expansion, they are hiring a mid-level Account Manager to take ownership of an existing book of business and serve as the primary relationship lead for clients.


This is a retention-focused, consultative account management role, ideal for someone who already understands how MSPs operate and wants real ownership, visibility, and upside tied to performance.

The Role


As an Account Manager, you’ll act as the day-to-day trusted advisor for approximately 20–30 SMB clients, managing the full account lifecycle while partnering closely with service delivery and project teams.

This is not a cold-calling or commission-only sales role. Success is measured by client satisfaction, retention, and smart growth, with bonuses aligned to outcomes—not volume.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a defined portfolio of 20–30 MSP clients
  • Own the full account lifecycle: onboarding support, ongoing relationship management, renewals, and retention
  • Build trusted relationships by understanding each client’s business, IT environment, and priorities
  • Partner with engineering and project teams to ensure smooth execution and proactive service delivery
  • Lead and participate in QBRs, focusing on performance, security posture, and future planning
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities in a thoughtful, client-first manner
  • Manage quoting, procurement, and licensing for hardware and software
  • Handle escalations professionally and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate account documentation and CRM updates


What They’re Looking For

  • 3–6 years of Account Management experience within an MSP environment (required)
  • Prior ownership of a client book of business
  • Strong understanding of MSP services, workflows, and client expectations
  • Comfortable leading QBRs, renewals, and lifecycle planning discussions
  • Able to speak confidently about IT concepts such as cloud, security, compliance, and modernization
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

  • Base salary targeting $80K–$95k
