About the Role
Are you passionate about building a proactive culture where safety and environmental stewardship come first? We are looking for a dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator to champion our workplace safety initiatives and environmental compliance programs.
In this hands-on role, you won't just be checking boxes; you will be an integral partner to our operations leadership and frontline employees. You will identify and mitigate workplace risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and most importantly, empower our team to make safe choices every day. If you are a problem-solver who thrives on the floor and loves driving continuous improvement, we want you on our team.
What You Will Do
Champion Safety & Culture
- Proactive Inspections: Conduct routine walk-throughs of production areas and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure alignment with OSHA regulations and internal safety policies.
- Empower the Team: Partner with supervisors and employees on the floor to promote the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
- Investigate & Improve: Assist in incident reporting and root-cause investigations, turning setbacks into actionable preventive measures.
- Knowledge Sharing: Support the development and delivery of engaging safety training programs that keep our workforce informed and vigilant.
Drive Environmental & Regulatory Compliance
- Environmental Stewardship: Maintain vital environmental compliance programs, including Tier II chemical inventory reporting, stormwater permit compliance (SWPPP), and SPCC program requirements.
- Waste Management: Assist with RCRA hazardous waste management activities, ensuring proper container labeling, secure storage, and accurate documentation.
- Industrial Hygiene: Coordinate or perform monitoring for workplace exposures (noise, airborne contaminants, etc.) to ensure a healthy working environment.
- Audit Readiness: Maintain impeccable records for Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Hazard Communication (HAZCOM), and environmental permits to ensure we are always prepared for regulatory inspections.
What You Bring to the Team
- Experience & Education: A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, coupled with 4 years of related manufacturing/industrial experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Regulatory Expertise: A strong working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and standard environmental compliance programs.
- Environmental Proficiency: Previous experience supporting Tier II reporting, SWPPP, SPCC, or hazardous waste management is highly preferred.
- Certifications: Professional designations such as ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or GSP (Graduate Safety Practitioner) are a big plus.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex safety expectations clearly. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred to effectively engage and train our diverse workforce.
- Analytical Mindset: The ability to evaluate workplace risks, calculate basic safety metrics, and find practical solutions where standardized answers may not exist.
- Tech-Savviness: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to seamlessly navigate safety and environmental record-keeping systems.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
To be successful in this active role, you should be comfortable working in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This means:
- Frequently standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and kneeling while navigating the production floor.
- Communicating effectively across noisy or busy environments.
- Occasionally climbing, balancing, and lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds.
- Utilizing close vision, color vision, and depth perception to conduct accurate hazard and equipment inspections.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive, safe, and diverse workplace.
