Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a business services organization, is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant – Data Analytics. This role is responsible for supporting general ledger accounting, analyzing financial data, and preparing reports used for forecasting, budgeting, and month-end close activities.
Job Duties
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare timely general ledger entries
- Support month-end close activities within established reporting deadlines
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and analyze general ledger activity
- Investigate account variances and document financial trends and findings
- Assist with the preparation of forecasts and budgets for assigned business areas
- Develop financial reports, dashboards, and data visualizations
- Extract and manipulate large datasets to support accounting and financial analysis
- Maintain compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and established accounting procedures
Skills & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1–3 years of accounting, audit, financial reporting, or financial analysis experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting principles
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, and large dataset analysis
- Experience performing account reconciliations, variance analysis, forecasting, and trend analysis
- Experience preparing financial reports and supporting month-end close activities
- Experience with financial data extraction, transformation, or manipulation
Desired
- Experience with Workday, Adaptive Planning, or a comparable financial management system
- Experience creating reports and dashboards in Power BI
- Experience with SQL, Power Query, or similar data analysis tools
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or Certified Public Accountant designation
- Public accounting or external audit experience
- Experience identifying and implementing accounting process improvements
