Blue Chip Talent, is partnering with an organization that is seeking a skilled Coporate/In-house Director of Audit. This role is responsible for leading complex annual audit activities, strengthening audit readiness, and improving accounting processes, controls, and financial reporting. The position will also drive remediation efforts and help modernize finance operations through sustainable processes and technology.
Job Duties
- Lead and coordinate large, complex annual audits across a substantial financial environment
- Partner with senior leadership and external auditors throughout audit cycles and finance transformation initiatives
- Oversee audit preparation, schedules, deliverables, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Establish sustainable audit-readiness processes, milestones, ownership, and deadlines
- Drive remediation of audit findings and implement processes designed to prevent recurrence
- Oversee financial close, reconciliations, internal controls, and financial reporting activities
- Manage accounting and audit managers and staff while establishing clear ownership and accountability
- Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and modernize finance and accounting processes
Skills & Experience Required
- Senior-level audit or accounting leadership experience at the Senior Audit Manager, Audit Director, or equivalent level
- Advanced knowledge of audit and accounting principles, financial close, reconciliations, internal controls, and financial reporting
- Experience leading or coordinating large, complex annual external audits
- Demonstrated experience improving audit readiness and remediating audit findings
- Experience establishing standardized accounting controls, processes, schedules, and audit deliverables
- Experience managing accounting or audit managers and staff within a complex finance organization
Desired
- Experience supporting audits within a $1B financial environment
- Workday Financials experience, including identifying opportunities to expand or optimize system capabilities
- CPA certification
- Governmental or fund accounting experience
- Internal service fund, cost allocation, or chargeback accounting experience
- Experience implementing finance process automation and technology-enabled process improvements
- Public accounting or large-scale private-sector audit experience
