Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector. This role is responsible for programming and operating coordinate measuring machines, completing dimensional inspections of manufactured components, and approving first-piece and final inspections to support production quality requirements.
Job Duties
- Develop, qualify, maintain, and troubleshoot CMM inspection programs
- Program and operate stationary, scanning, and portable CMM equipment
- Inspect and approve first-piece components at the start of production
- Perform final dimensional inspections prior to product delivery
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T requirements, specifications, and tolerances for machined components and fabricated weldments
- Review and refine dimensional data collection requirements based on drawings, models, work orders, purchase requirements, and PPAP documentation
- Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, bore gages, and additional precision measurement equipment
- Support containment activities, corrective and preventive actions, Gage R&R studies, and dimensional reporting when discrepancies are identified
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3–5 years of related dimensional inspection, CMM programming, or metrology experience
- Experience developing and maintaining CMM inspection programs
- Experience operating scanning and/or portable coordinate measuring equipment
- Proficiency reading engineering drawings and interpreting GD&T
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, bore gages, and other precision measurement tools
- Experience completing dimensional inspection reports and validating component conformance to engineering specifications
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and perform required inspection activities in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with PolyWorks or comparable metrology and dimensional inspection software
- Experience with Leica or comparable portable/scanning metrology equipment
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality management requirements
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 environmental management requirements
- Experience supporting PPAP documentation and inspection requirements
- Experience participating in Gage R&R studies
- Experience supporting corrective action, preventive action, and quality containment processes
