Director of Construction | Major Construction Program | Dallas, TX

200K - 250K bonus and benefits

Blayze Group is partnering with a leading real estate development and project management business on the appointment of a Director of Construction in Dallas.

This is a senior leadership opportunity within a complex, large scale construction program requiring strong operational oversight, commercial discipline, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across the full project lifecycle.

The role will suit an experienced construction leader who can operate at both strategic and field level, providing direction across construction planning, procurement, execution, risk management, cost control, and closeout.

The position is based in Dallas and requires regular involvement with project teams, delivery partners, consultants, and senior stakeholders.

The Role

• Provide leadership and construction operations oversight across a major construction program

• Support senior leadership with construction strategy, delivery planning, project milestones, and performance expectations

• Oversee construction activity from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring alignment with schedules, budgets, quality standards, and contractual requirements

• Work closely with project leadership, design teams, delivery partners, consultants, and field teams to maintain alignment throughout the project lifecycle

• Monitor construction progress, sequencing, procurement activity, change documentation, payment applications, and wider project performance

• Work with project controls and commercial teams to manage forecasting, cost exposure, contingency usage, risk items, and value engineering opportunities

• Champion a strong safety, quality, and accountability culture across the construction team and delivery partners

Background Sought

• 15 years of progressive construction leadership experience

• Proven experience overseeing complex, large scale construction projects or programs

• Background working in an owner’s representative, owner side, program management, construction management, or senior delivery leadership capacity

• Strong understanding of preconstruction, procurement, field execution, cost control, scheduling, risk management, change management, and closeout

• Experience with sophisticated delivery models such as CMAR, Design Build, Progressive Design Build, CM/GC, or Design Bid Build would be highly advantageous

• Strong commercial awareness, including budget oversight, forecasting, claims, change orders, contingency management, and value engineering

• Strong executive communication, judgement, emotional intelligence, and stakeholder management skills

Why This Opportunity

This is a senior leadership role with a respected development and project management business delivering a major construction program in Dallas.

The opportunity offers genuine influence over construction strategy, delivery standards, risk management, commercial performance, and team execution.

It will suit someone who enjoys complexity, understands the realities of large scale construction, and can bring structure, clarity, and leadership to a demanding delivery environment.

You will be joining a business that values long term thinking, partnership, and disciplined execution, rather than short term decision making and reactive project management.

The role offers the chance to work closely with senior stakeholders while remaining connected to the realities of construction delivery on the ground.

For an experienced construction leader looking for a high impact role in the Dallas market, this is an opportunity to step into a position with real responsibility, visibility, and long term career significance.
