Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1 years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.


A specialized opportunity is available for experienced educators skilled in supporting students with visual impairments at the elementary level. This contract position is based in Cambridge, MA, and spans the current school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments.
  • Utilize specialized teaching strategies and adaptive technologies to facilitate student learning.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive student support.
  • Conduct assessments and track progress to inform instructional adjustments.
  • Provide training and resources to school staff regarding visual impairment accommodations and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification with a specialization or endorsement in visual impairment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged students who have visual impairments.
  • Strong knowledge of assistive technology and accessibility tools.
  • Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

  • Elementary school setting in Cambridge, MA.
