This position starts in mid-August and continues through early November, providing an excellent environment to make a difference for young learners during a critical stretch of their academic year. You’ll collaborate with staff and families in a supportive atmosphere, playing a key role in shaping students' emotional and academic success.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois School Social Worker license (IL SSW) and Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Demonstrated previous experience working as a social worker in a K–12 school environment
- Strong understanding of developmental needs and social-emotional learning for elementary-aged children
- Excellent communication, empathy, and collaboration skills
- Availability to work full time, on-site, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–3:35 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver counseling and support services to individual students and small groups
- Develop and implement intervention plans addressing academic, social, and emotional issues
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and parents to foster a positive school climate
- Participate in team meetings, conduct assessments, and contribute to IEP processes
- Advocate for students’ well-being and assist with referrals to community resources as needed
