Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in child and family counseling, crisis intervention, and special education. This role involves working closely with students, families, and school staff to promote mental health and well-being, assess student needs, and develop effective interventions. The School Psychologist will play a crucial role in supporting students with developmental disabilities, autism, and other behavioral health challenges.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify students' needs.
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students facing emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Develop safety plans and crisis management strategies for at-risk students.
- Engage in conflict management and provide support during crisis situations.
- Utilize applied behavior analysis techniques to address behavioral issues effectively.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records related to patient care.
- Participate in early intervention programs aimed at supporting young children with developmental concerns.
- Conduct psychological testing to evaluate cognitive abilities and emotional functioning.
- Provide case management services to ensure comprehensive support for students' needs.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP processes, and behavioral health practices.
- Proficiency in patient assessment techniques and psychological testing methods.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation standards.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders.
- Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to manage crisis situations effectively.
