Job Summary
- Deliver customer orders (grills, mowers, mulch, tools, patio furniture) on-time and damage-free while assisting in the warehouse with order pulling, forklift work, and product assembly.
- Serve as the friendly face of BigToolBox on the road and the muscle behind seamless in-store pickups and contractor will-calls.
- Split time between driving local routes and warehouse tasks; keep fleet ready and backroom organized.
- Seasonal, Part-time, and Full-time roles available. Must have flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities
- Delivering Orders
- Load van/truck with secured, padded, and sequenced stops; verify every item against delivery manifest.
- Deliver to homes, job sites, and businesses within 50-mile radius; unload to curb, garage, or backyard per customer request.
- Collect COD, signatures, or photos; call customers 15 min prior; return undeliverables same day.
- Pulling Orders
- Pull will-call, phone, and online orders accurately using pick tickets or Ace mobile app; stage in proper bays.
- Locate obscure SKUs in overheads, backstock, or garden center; double-check counts and UPCs.
- Wrap fragile items (glass, tile, paint); shrink-wrap pallets for contractor pickups.
- Forklift Work
- Operate sit-down propane forklift to load/unload Ace warehouse pallets, lumber, and rental equipment.
- Help off load inbound deliveries from flatbed/box trucks
- Move mulch, soil, stone pallets to garden load-out; break bales and restock bulk bins.
- Product Assembly
- Assemble grills, wheelbarrows, sheds, picnic tables, racking displays per manufacturer instructions in warehouse.
- Test-start mowers, blowers, pressure washers; attach handles, fill oil/gas, apply decals.
- Stage assembled units with PDI tag, owner’s manual, and warranty card for pickup or delivery.
- Vehicle & Warehouse Standards
- Conduct pre/post-trip DOT inspections; log mileage, fuel, and maintenance alerts.
- Sweep warehouse aisles, condense cardboard, and keep dock clear for next truck.
- Assist receiving with pallet breakdown and OS&D documentation during downtime.
- All other duties as assigned by store management
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Education
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience
- 1 years delivery driving (box truck/van) plus warehouse/forklift experience; assembly skills a plus.
- Skills & Abilities
- Clean driving record; valid driver’s license.
- Forklift certification (or ability to earn within 30 days); safe operation at heights.
- Spatial tetris master—loads 26 ft box truck with zero shift or damage.
- Basic hand tools fluency (cordless drill, socket set, torque wrench) for assembly.
- Friendly phone voice and GPS navigation; texts photos of delivered products with a smile.
- Physical Requirements
- Lift/carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly (ie grills, 3 cu ft mulch, 80-lb bag concrete).
- Walk/climb stairs at delivery sites; push/pull loaded dollies up ramps.
- Sit/drive 4–6 hours daily; stand/walk warehouse 4–6 hours; bend, twist, reach overhead.
- Age 18 and over due to power equipment/forklift use.
- Other
- Flexible for early morning contractor runs or occasional weekend deliveries.
- Commitment to “white-glove” delivery—shoes off in homes, tarps down on lawns.
- Successful MVR review.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirements:
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Possess a valid in-state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with company’s insurance carrier’s standards.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred.
- Knowledge of local traffic and road conditions.
- Familiarity with using navigation tools or GPS devices.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to follow specific instructions and perform duties as assigned by your direct supervisor, business unit manager or Manager on Duty.
- Work independently, establishing priorities, managing workload and time wisely.
- Possess strong communication skills with associates and customers.
- Ability to work additional or flexible hours including weekends.

- Basic computer knowledge skills preferred.
- Safely navigate driving conditions in adverse weather in an efficient manner.
Essential Job Functions:
- Operate a box van, pickup truck, or other assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
- Observe all state and local driving laws including company policies and procedures.
- Safely load, unload, and move products in a careful and efficient manner.
- Communicate with customers via phone to schedule deliveries.
- Ability to work on your feet (for long periods of time) outside, and in various elements.
- Able to frequently push or pull moderately heavy objects (approx. 50-100 lbs)
- Sit for extended periods of time, bend, twist, squat and climb in and out of a truck.
- Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
- Keep the delivery vehicle clean and organized.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Utilize GPS or navigation tools to navigate routes and avoid delays.
- Collect payments or obtain signatures as required.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times, quantities, and any issues encountered.
- Submit delivery documentation and receipts in a timely manner.
Work Environment:
- Hot, dry, wet, and cold.
